Q: My insurance company said to get three estimates!
A: The insurance industry will use the estimate game to their advantage. After a major storm it is virtually impossible to get a company to answer their telephone let alone three! All you need is for Storm Guard to contact your adjuster to negotiate the claim and receive the approval on the project. It is really that simple.

Q: What will this cost me?
A: If your home is approved by your insurance company, you will pay your insurance deductible plus any material upgrades you may request from your salesman. Your insurance company pays the rest.

Q: How is Storm Guard Restoration, LLC compensated for their efforts with my insurance company?
A: We agree to handle all the insurance meetings, price negotiations and insurance invoicing on your behalf in return for the contract on all work to be performed.

Q: What if my home is not approved? Will there be fees to Storm Guard?
A: Absolutely not! We work for you on contingency, based on insurance company approval.

Q: Is this going to be a lengthy, troublesome process?
A: You file your claim, choose your new materials &colors, and forward all checks that you receive from your insurance company to Storm Guard. It's that simple! Storm Guard takes care of the rest.

Q: Can I handle the insurance adjuster or the process on my own?
A: Perhaps, but we strongly discourage all homeowners from doing this. This meeting is the most critical part of the entire process. Your lack of insurance knowledge could affect your rights. Let a claims representative handle this meeting for you. You won't regret it.

Q: Do I have to contact the insurance company or will Storm Guard do this for me?
A: The insurance company requires the homeowner or the insured party to call and file the claim. Storm Guard will handle it from there.

Q: Will my insurance get cancelled?
A: Generally speaking, NO. Most insurance companies realize you have no control over a major storm that hit your area. This is usually referred to as an “Act of God” in most insurance policies. It will, however; ultimately depend on a variety of factors including your past claims history. If this is a concern, we will help determine your decision by asking you a few simple questions.

Q: Will my insurance premiums go up if I file a claim for storm damage?
A: Regardless if you file a claim or not, you're insurance will increase due to catastrophic events that the insurance industry has to cover in other areas of the country. Just compare your insurance rates from three years ago to today. You pay premiums for events like this, don't be intimidated by your insurance agent or the insurance company when it comes time to file your claim.

Q: Am I limited on products and colors for the new applications to my house?
A: Not at all! Storm Guard carries a full line of the industries highest quality roofing, siding, aluminum screen enclosures and window products available today. We will schedule a “colors meeting” with you and your spouse after your insurance company approves your home to determine what products and colors you want us to use. This meeting generally takes about an hour depending on your questions.

Q: What am I obligating myself to by signing a contract with Storm Guard?
A: If the insurance company approves your home, we have the first right of refusal to complete the actual work. The total cost of your project will be the insurance proceeds plus your deductible.
